Series Management

Organizing your comics into series helps readers follow ongoing stories and discover your complete catalog. Here's everything you need to know about creating and managing series.

Creating a Series

Option 1: During Comic Upload (Quick)

The fastest way to create a series is while you're uploading a comic:

  1. In the Series field, start typing a new series name
  2. Click the "create [series name]" option that appears in the dropdown
  3. The series is created with just the title—you can add a description and header image later
  4. Your comic is automatically added to the new series

This method is perfect when you're publishing the first issue and want to get started quickly.

Option 2: From Series Management (Full Setup)

If you prefer to set up the series with all details upfront:

  1. Go to My StoreSeries
  2. Click Create Series or Upload Series
  3. Fill in the series details:
    • Title (required)
    • Synopsis (optional but recommended)
    • Header Image (optional, 1280x400px)
  4. Click Save
  5. Add comics to the series when you publish them, or by editing existing comics

Series Information

Title (Required)

Choose a clear, memorable name for your series. This should be consistent across all platforms where you promote your work.

Examples: "Dark Galaxy," "City of Shadows," "Mystery Anthology Vol. 1"

Synopsis (Optional)

Write a description of what the series is about. Include the overall premise, tone, and what readers can expect. Mention whether it's an ongoing series, a limited series, or complete.

Header Image (Optional)

By default, the system generates a header image using the covers of the comics in your series. This works well for most creators.

If you'd like a custom header:

  • Upload an image at 1280x400px (recommended)
  • Formats: JPG or PNG
  • The header appears on your series page

Adding Comics to a Series

Reordering Comics

This determines the order readers see on your series page.

  • The comic remains published but is no longer associated with the series
  • To add it back, edit the comic and select the series again
info

You can also remove a comic from a series by editing the comic itself and clearing the Series field.

Series Pages

Each series gets its own page on Panels Store at panels.store/series/[series-id]/[series-name].

Readers will see:

  • Series header image and synopsis
  • All comics in the series (in the order you set)
  • Purchase links for each issue
  • Purchase button for the full series

Share your series link to promote the complete collection and help new readers start from issue #1.

Managing Multiple Series

If you're creating multiple series, make sure to differentiate them clearly:

Distinct identities: Give each series its own title, cover style, and description.

Genre-specific descriptions: Help readers understand what makes each series unique.

Consistent branding: Within each series, use recognizable visual elements like logos or color schemes.

Reader navigation: Readers can browse all your series from your store page and easily jump between them.

Best Practices

Consistent branding: Use recognizable cover designs, logos, or color schemes across all issues in a series. This helps readers instantly identify your work.

Clear numbering: Include issue numbers in your comic titles (e.g., "Dark Galaxy #3") so readers know the reading order.

Manual ordering: While comics are added in publication order by default, you can manually reorder them using the drag-and-drop interface in the series editor to ensure the correct reading sequence.

Set expectations: Mention in your description whether the series is ongoing, published monthly, complete, or a limited run.

Help new readers: Indicate whether issues must be read in order or if readers can jump in anywhere.

Update descriptions: Keep your series information current, especially when you complete story arcs or the entire series.
